Meet one of Trilix’s newest team members, Kurt Hammerschmidt! A 2012 graduate from Iowa State University, Kurt spent his college years playing tight end for the Cyclones while earning his degree in communications. Following graduation, he stayed busy, trying out for several NFL teams, including the Cowboys, Patriots and Packers, before deciding to accept a technical recruiting position with TEK Systems here in Des Moines.
In his new role as a sales manager at Trilix, he will be working closely with our client SDS BinderWorks to help expand their client base and develop new business. Kurt will use the same work ethic and tenacity that he employed on the field to score new contacts and boost sales. A self-proclaimed travel buff, he’s excited to embark on this exciting new journey.
Outside of the office, Kurt is a man of many interests. On nights and weekends, you can find him jamming out to music at concerts around Des Moines and hitting the town with friends and family.
To get to know Kurt a little better, see how he answered these seriously serious questions.
Would you rather fight 100 duck-sized horses or one horse-sized duck?
I think it is pretty obvious. The horse-sized duck. Headliner: “Des Moines Finally at Peace: Horse-Sized Duck Slain, BBQ Sponsored by Trilix.”
What's one fact about yourself that most people don't know?
I do not enjoy pickles, root beer or snakes. At all.
Who's the most famous person you've ever met?
I’ve got a few. In no particular order: Jared Allen (DE for the Bears), Kurt Warner (when he was QB for the Rams; lived right up the street from me), Rich Whitman (four star general; sits in D.C.), Mike McCarthy (head coach of the Green Bay Packers).
If you had to choose one song that would play every time you entered a room, what would it be?
Definitely the Space Jam theme song.
