This summer, Trilix has three interns joining the team in different capacities. Liz Reiher and Megan Olson will be working with one of our agriculture clients. Cooper Maahs joins the video team, shooting and editing videos for a variety of clients.
We sat down with Liz, Megan and Cooper and got to know them a little better.
Where are you from?
LR: I am an Iowan, born and raised. I have lived in the metro area since I was three and graduated from Johnston High School.
MO: Keota, Iowa, a very small town of less than 1,000 people in SE Iowa. I graduated from high school with 17 people.
CM: Johnston, Iowa.
What are you studying/what did you study in college?
LR: I am pursuing a dual degree in journalism and psychology at the University of Missouri.
MO: I just graduated from Iowa State University with my bachelor's degree in advertising and a designated area of concentration in business and society.
CM: Digital media.
What's your background? What jobs did you have before this one?
LR: This is my first internship. For the past year in Missouri, I have been teaching children's gymnastics classes. This is ironic because I was never a gymnast. Just a girl who needed a job. However, I can do a handstand and a cartwheel, so I'm totally qualified.
MO: Throughout college, I held summer internships with WinField and Bayer and waitressed during the school year.
CM: I worked at a pizza place, a fancy restaurant, and a movie theater before this.
Dogs or cats?
LR: Dogs all the way (but cats are cool too). My dream dog is a miniature goldendoodle.
MO: Definitely dogs! I have a black lab that is turning 7 in September. His name is Duke!
Favorite type of takeout/delivery food?
LR: Casey's taco pizza! I'll actually eat any kind of pizza, except Hawaiian. Pineapple does not belong on pizza. I also love Hy-Vee Chinese and Tsing Tsao.
MO: Steak, tacos, pizza, sushi — I'm a garbage can; I'll eat anything!
CM: Jimmy John's.
What job would you be terrible at?
LR: Fortune cookie writer. My fortunes would probably read more like a magic 8 ball: "Ask again later."
MO: Finance or accounting. I am NOT a numbers person!
Where do you most want to travel?
LR: Europe — I'm hoping to study abroad in Brussels or London, and would love to travel to France and spend a whole week just walking around the Louvre.
Favorite TV show?
LR: Gilmore Girls, Parks and Rec, Friends, How to Get Away With Murder, Game of Thrones
MO: That '70s Show
CM: Game of Thrones
What are you most likely to become famous for?
LR: My poor spelling skills. I am very thankful for autocorrect and spell check.
MO: I am not the most graceful, so if I were to become famous, it would be because someone got a video of me tripping or embarassing myself in some uncoordinated way.
CM: Making dumb internet content.
Favorite summer activity?
LR: Reading by the pool, going to the farmers market and the Iowa State Fair.
MO: I have horses, so I like to go home and go riding. Their names are Bullseye and Dino. Also, I love to go four-wheeling and swimming, and I like to try to travel around!
CM: Doing nothing.
There are two types of people in this world. What are the two types?
LR: There are people who hate oatmeal raisin cookies and people who believe that any cookie is a good cookie; it's just an added bonus if it's oatmeal raisin.
MO: There are the doers and the talkers. I try to be a doer, although I do talk a lot.
CM: Those who sing in the shower and those who lie and deny that they sing in the shower.
Please help us welcome Liz, Megan and Cooper aboard for the summer.
