You’ve probably heard of office wellness programs and committees, but have you heard of office “Fun committees”? At Trilix, we like to work hard and play hard, so in 2013, to ensure our staff still takes time for “fun” regardless of how busy everyone is, Trilix introduced three committees to improve employee morale and to build camaraderie in the workplace — and you can say it’s worked. One of these “mittees” is the Trilix FunMittee.
The 2018 FunMittee was announced at our 2017 holiday party and is composed of four Trilix employees — Reid Chandler, Haley Austin, Kim Hildreth and Nathaniel Carney. These four meet monthly to come up with company outings, events and in-house celebrations to hold for staff throughout the course of the year. The 2017 committee brought Dog Days of Summer, Tri-lympics, St. Maddy’s Day, Fair fun and more, so to say the 2018 FunMittee has big shoes to fill is an understatement. So far this year, the FunMitee has planned a Souper-Bowl Soup-Off and Trilix’s 14th anniversary party, with more to come. So they’re on the right track.
In addition to monthly festivities, the FunMittee is in charge of planning our annual holiday party, so this year’s crew will have to live up to the task of beating last year’s event which featured live music, a popcorn machine, dessert bar and a Shorty’s after party. Good luck, guys!
While the FunMittee may sound purely fun and games, they also explore additional benefits that enhance the experience of working for Trilix. Trilix believes in work-life balance, having fun, and improving the quality of life and the quality of our workplace for our employees, and this is one strategy that has paid off in a big way.
