Last month, our very own Abe Goldstien celebrated 28 years with our agency (16 as Porter & Associates and 12 as Trilix). Abe is regarded by many as a top industry talent and candid spokesman among Des Moines advertising professionals, and we are lucky and proud to call him a Trilix employee.
On top of being a client (and employee) favorite, Abe gives a variety of gifts to Trilix and our clients, including a wealth of industry and jazz knowledge, creative thinking, a great sense of humor, quick wit and more.
When asked to give advice to those looking to create a purposeful career in the industry, Abe left us with the following, to which he says, “when taken as a whole, these things provide all the advice you need for a successful career, and more importantly, a meaningful life.”
Live each day to the fullest. Get the most from each hour, each day and each age of your life. Then you can look forward with confidence, and back without regrets. Be yourself, but be your best self. Dare to be different and to follow your own star. Don’t be afraid to be happy. Enjoy what is beautiful. Love with all your heart and soul. Believe that those you love, love you. Forget what you have done for your friends, and remember what they have done for you. Disregard what the world owes you and concentrate on what you owe the world. When you are faced with a decision, make that decision as wisely as possible, then forget it. The moment of absolute certainty never arrives. Blessed is the generation in which the old listen to the young and the young listen to the old.
