New Trilix hire Jennifer Deckard grew up about 20 miles south of Des Moines in Indianola (think hot air balloons on summer nights) and attended Iowa State, earning degrees in history and advertising. Jennifer’s role as traffic coordinator for Trilix has her managing projects’ progression from start to finish, as well as all communication between client and agency.
We sat down with Jennifer to get the scoop on just about everything, from long-term travel plans to what exactly she can do with just two minutes. Read on.
What do you do for fun outside of work?
Outside of work I’m kind of a homebody. I love getting lost in a good book, a Netflix series or the occasional DIY project. When I do get outdoors, I really enjoy being on the water: boating, kayaking, and most recently, paddle boarding.
It’s ice cream time. Cone or dish?
CONE. You can eat anything out of a dish — where’s the fun?!
Favorite movie of all time?
If Christopher Nolan directs it, I probably love it. He makes movies that bend your mind and has you thinking about it days later; that’s the best.
Best meal you’ve ever eaten in Des Moines?
A new favorite restaurant of mine is Malo. I’m a big fan of their tacos al pastor and their queso (you can order it with chorizo and no joke, it’ll change your life).
Place you most want to travel?
I’m usually a “fruity-drink-on-the-beach” traveler, but I’m dying to get to Europe. Having studied a LOT of European history at Iowa State, I’ve really wanted to get across the pond to see all the places I’ve learned so much about. England, France, Germany, Austria, Italy — I want to see it all.
Tell me something no one could guess about you.
I can solve a Rubik’s cube in a solid two minutes. I used to be able to do it in about a minute and fifteen but I’ve gotten a tad rusty.
Please help us welcome Jennifer to the team!
