Welcome Trilix’s new PR/communications director, Jana Rieker! Jana joins the team after serving as the VP of sales and marketing at Bankers Trust, where she led the company’s sales and marketing efforts and 2014 rebranding process. She has also worked in advertising and marketing at the Des Moines Register, WHO Radio, Meredith Corporation and Bratney Companies. Jana earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in business and English from Central College in Pella, Iowa, and her MBA from the University of Iowa.
Jana’s passionate about making a difference in the lives of others, and while not working at Trilix, she devotes many hours to volunteer work. Jana serves on several boards and committees, focusing on three areas:
Employee wellness and development: Jana volunteers her time with Employee and Family Resources, Iowa Women Lead Change, Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynold’s Million Women Mentors for STEM education and career mentoring, and the Greater Des Moines Partnership’s Community Connect Program.
Student and family engagement: Jana is on the executive board of directors for the Iowa Hall of Pride, West Des Moines Girls Softball, Kingdom Cares/Kingdom Hoops and WELPP for talented and gifted students. She has also been a presenter for the Iowa State University College of Business for their Young Women in Business series.
Agriculture and manufacturing: While working for Successful Farming (Meredith Corporation), Jana served on the national and local NAMA board, presented at the National Bio-Fuels Forum and volunteered with several young farmers programs throughout the Midwest.
When not in the office or giving her time to the community, Jana enjoys spending time with her husband, Mike, and their two kids, Grant and Meredith. She enjoys playing golf, riding bikes and teaching kickboxing classes at the Wellmark YMCA and the Healthy Living Center.
