If you get misty about ghosts who play baseball, can sing along with seventy-six trombones or find yourself swooning over handsome photographers who fall for married farm wives, you need to get to the State Historical Museum of Iowa now.
Today was the opening day of Hollywood in the Heartland, a new exhibition packed with Iowa memorabilia and stars from the silver screen. From legends like John Wayne and Donna Reed to more recent celebrities like Ashton Kutcher and Michelle Monaghan, the exhibit showcases a rich collection of talent and films native to the state.
Iowan Tom Arnold helped kick off Hollywood in the Heartland’s opening celebration this morning with a Q&A session moderated by Produce Iowa Executive Producer Liz Gilman. Several Trilix team members attended the event which featured the entertaining Arnold sharing stories of breaking into the business and staying true to his Iowa roots.
Guided tours, children’s activities and other fun presentations are planned throughout this weekend. For the complete schedule, visit www.iowahistory.org/Hollywood.
Congratulations to Trilix client Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs (@iowaculture) on a successful first day of this great new exhibition!
