Getting the opportunity to tell the story of your city is one of the best parts of working for a marketing agency. And that’s just what we’ve been doing for the past several months as we’ve helped develop the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau’s 2015 summer marketing campaign. The campaign focuses on the visitor experience and features targeted elements for three demographics — young professionals, social moms and baby boomers.
The foundation of the new campaign is TV and cable spots, which Trilix directed and coordinated. Filmed at more than 30 locations around the metro, the spots highlight our city experience and exhibit the activities and energy that make Des Moines such a special place. More than 130 local volunteers were captured in both still photographs and videos that focused on the emotions and excitement they experienced at each location.
In addition to the spots, Trilix helped create radio ads, digital billboards, targeted online ads, social media and promotions for four markets: Omaha/Council Bluffs, Central Iowa, Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. The campaign will roll out in May, with spots to air in Central Iowa in June and July. We partnered with Luminary Creative who filmed and edited the TV and cable spots and composed the music within the TV, cable and radio spots elements.
