The Science Center of Iowa temporarily closed its doors to the public this week for cleaning and maintenance, but that didn't stop our friends down the street from drawing an impressive crowd on Wednesday afternoon.
As an extremely generous thank you for our work on their website and public relations and various other marketing campaigns, the SCI staff invited Trilix out to their front lawn to participate in an afternoon of food and festivities.
Pulled pork sandwiches and grilled corn-on-the-cob headlined the menu, graciously served up by the SCI staff. Beverages were provided by several local breweries, including Exile Brewing and Confluence Brewing here in Des Moines as well as Firetrucker Brewery in Ankeny — all of which proved to be a perfect remedy for a scorching afternoon.
But don't just take this for a picnic. The competitive juices were flowing as several attendees hit the playing field for a game of flamingo croquet!
The "ticket" in the door was a pink flamingo decorated by the various departments from both Trilix and SCI that served as markers at each of the croquet wickets. Though first and second place awards went to SCI for a couple of their stellar designs, our creative department (no surprise!) took home third place and a $30 gift card good for several area bars and restaurants.
We thank SCI for hosting such a terrific event and for giving us the chance to develop and grow relationships with its awesome staff.
