What would an ad agency be without creative leaders who help bring ideas to life? Luckily for Trilix, we have 12 of them who make up our creative team. From brand development and ad campaigns to trade show booth design and collateral to photography and videography, this group develops and executes our design, photo and video projects.

Brent Wirth, VP, Creative
Vice President of Creative Brent Wirth has led our creative team since 2006. On top of managing his team members, leading all internal and external creative strategy, handling new creative business and ensuring department projects run smoothly, Brent also handles the creative for several of his own clients — Stine Seed Company, MS Technologies and Templeton Rye to name a few. One of his most noteworthy professional accomplishments includes designing the original Templeton Rye whiskey branding and label. This comes full circle — as he continues to work on Templeton Rye bottle designs today in his current role here at Trilix. On top of his day-to-day duties, Brent handles many pop-up projects, and has spent a large part of this year helping facilitate the Trilix office expansion and redesign. When he’s not at work, Brent enjoys yard work, art projects, music and spending time with his family.
Paul Burger, Associate Creative Director
As Trilix’s Associate Creative Director, Paul Burger assists Brent in leading creative strategy for clients. Paul has been with the agency for 19 years, which he says is, “a tad short of less than half my adult life.” Paul executes strategy and design for both print and digital channels for a variety of Trilix clients, including McWane, Inc., CFI Tire, Iowa Wild, Availa Bank and more. Paul also takes on professional projects outside of work and is on the DMACC Advisory Committee for their graphic design program. Paul says his wife tells him he never turns work off, which is true, because he’s always thinking about design — whether it’s client based or just for fun. He’s amassed a decent collection of industry-related books over the years, and has photographer inspirations (though amateur skills, he says). Outside of the office, Paul loves going to Iowa Wild games, “manicuring” his lawn, spending time with his kids and family and also advocating for a variety of great causes here in the community — specifically veterans causes and the March of Dimes (Paul and his wife are preemie parents).
Kerstin Ohnysty, Art Director
Art Director Kerstin Ohnysty has been with Trilix for five years and works alongside Brent and Paul on creative concepts and style direction for both existing and new creative projects. She collaborates with her fellow designers, copywriters and other departments to tackle the best course of action for our clients’ projects. A few of the clients she works with include the Iowa State Fair, Per Mar Security and the International Association for Food Protection, among others. Her projects range from print and editorial pieces to digital ads and graphics for social media use. Kerstin says she particularly enjoys projects involving hand-drawn typography and any kind of illustration. She has been a member of AIGA, the professional association for design, since college. Outside of work, Kerstin is currently working on a small side project that delves in to branding and industrial design. She also likes to be outside, running, camping, knitting and checking out breweries with family and friends. But most importantly, spending time with her two cats, Durden and Marla.
Rachel Yancey, Producer/Editor
Video Producer/Editor Rachel Yancey’s role includes editing video projects for clients, coordinating and assisting in video shoots, conducting interviews and keeping up with industry news and advancements. Rachel has worked with clients like Stine Seed Company, University of Iowa Athletics and the Vein Center at Iowa Heart. Many may not know that while Rachel is a Trilix employee, she’s actually overseas right now participating in Remote Year, a program where she works remotely from places like Croatia, Thailand, Spain and more. We always knew she was an adrenaline junkie, but this has proved it! Although we’re happy for her and all the experiences she’s gained while abroad, we’ll be happy to have her back in the office when her year is complete.
Mike Reif, Senior Production Manager
Senior Production Manager Mike Reif joined the Trilix team three years ago, and we are so glad he did. Mike’s production role consists of him working with the creative and accounts teams to produce tangible items for final delivery to our clients, for any and all of their needs. From giveaways and booth spaces to branded apparel, collateral and more, Mike handles it all, while managing budgets, timelines and quality control. He says his other work-related tasks include, “moving heavy things.” When he’s not heavy lifting here at the office, Mike enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible and taking care of what he calls his hobby farm, working out, hiking in the mountains when he can and attending his kids’ sporting events.
Janet Eckles, Associate Producer/Editor
Associate Producer/Editor Janet Eckles has been with Trilix for two years and is one of the seven professionals who comprise the video team. As an associate video producer/editor, Janet edits and produces various forms of videos (including educational, training, hype, social, documentary style, etc.) for a wide range of Trilix clients. Janet is also part of the office “FunMittee” and helps plan fun outings and events to encourage employee bonding and boost morale. When she’s not editing video for Trilix, Janet enjoys concert photography, freelancing, going to shows and actively avoiding sports.
Alex Huston, Designer
Designer Alex Huston has been a part of the Trilix team for almost a year and a half. In his role, Alex designs a variety of creative applications and projects, including signage, brochures, ads and social media graphics for clients such as Valley West Mall, CFI Tire, CyRide and the Iowa Wild. Alex also does much of the graphic design work for internal projects and Trilix social media. One of his favorite Trilix memories so far was befriending all of the dogs during Trilix’s Dog Days of Summer. When he’s not working, Alex enjoys making too many Spotify playlists and watching Back to the Future movies again and again (he’s seen them an excessive amount of times).
Chris Timmerman, Media Production Specialist
In January, Media Production Specialist Chris Timmerman will celebrate his first anniversary with Trilix. Chris’ main role entails shooting and editing photography projects for variety of Trilix clients, including Templeton Rye, Maxie’s and CFI Tire. He also helps with color management and consistency for all Trilix and client photos/videos. If you’re looking to see some cool photography work, follow him on Instagram @christimmermanphoto. On top of his photography duties, Chris also helps out with video editing for clients like the International Association for Food Protection and more. Chris’ personal life is just as exciting as his professional life. He recently got engaged and spends his free time wedding planning. He also just purchased a 1987 and a 2003 Jeep, and has been fixing them alongside his brother.
Spencer Brown, Designer
Designer Spencer Brown has been with Trilix for about nine months, and we’re glad to have him as one of the creative team’s five graphic designers. Spencer’s graphic design work focuses primarily on print and social media campaigns, and he works with clients like the Iowa AgriTech Accelerator, Science Center of Iowa, Availa Bank, McWane, Inc. and more. Spencer is also involved with the Trilix social committee and partners with other creative and social media team members on internal projects for the agency. Outside of work, Spencer plays music around town (guitar and singing), likes to paint (oil and acrylic) and enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors. He says, “music, art, and design all require two common things: creativity and the skills to execute,” which is probably why he’s such a great fit for his current role.
Chad Adams, Senior Video Production Manager
Senior Video Production Manager Chad Adams (alongside old partner and current Trilix employee James Drescher) has had a working relationship with Trilix since 2013 (as a freelancer), but joined our team as a full-time employee in April of this year. Chad’s role at Trilix is to ensure that all things video, on and off set, are up to par with our overall vision. Some of the clients Chad works with include the NCAA, Stine Seed Company and the Iowa Wild. He takes pride in making sure our clients’ video experiences are professional yet fun. Chad says that he enjoys his job because he’s been fortunate enough to do what he loves over the years — video. Some of Chad’s other notable projects he’s worked on throughout his career include video work for DIY network, HGTV and PBS. Most recently, he was asked to document an “Amazing Race” Adventure for Go Extreme Adventures, alongside fellow Trilix employee Rachel Yancey in Spain. Outside of work, Chad enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters — typically stopping at their favorite restaurant El Barca for some chips and queso or finding a local pizza joint for some slices and beer.
James Drescher, Senior Videographer/Photographer
As with Chad, Senior Videographer/Photographer James Drescher has had a working relationship with Trilix since 2013 (as freelancers) and joined our team as a full-time employee in April of this year. James’ role with the Trilix creative team includes all things video and photography for both internal and external projects — everything from brainstorming and executing creative concepts to managing all the gear for our video shoots to making sure Chad eats healthy (his words, not ours). Another professional fete James has accomplished in his life includes previously owning and operating a photography and video company for eight years (he’s shot over 200 weddings and multiple sporting events!). His favorite thing to do outside of work is anything and everything with his family — his wife, Missy, and his daughters, Reese (6) and Blake (2).
Nathan McNurlen, Producer/Editor
As one of our most recent hires, Nathan McNurlen joined the team just four months ago, and hit the ground running. Nathan’s role as producer/editor involves managing video work on both pre-production and post-production ends. In pre-production, he plans what needs to happen for the projects, such as script writing, storyboarding and outlining. For post-production, he edits videos while managing the editing workflow among the rest of the team. Some of the clients he works with include University of Iowa Athletics, Templeton Rye and the Iowa Wild. When he’s not in the office, he spends time with his wife, Mattea, and their dog, playing video games, watching movies or working on their own personal art projects.
Sydney Dhabalt, Associate Producer/Editor
Associate Producer/Editor Sydney Dhabalt is our newest addition to Trilix, joining the team one month ago. Sydney’s main client is the Iowa Wild, and she spends her time creating short promotional videos and teasers, and even documenting team outings and events, as well as editing the projects when she’s finished filming. When she’s not in the office, she likes visiting her family in Omaha, Nebraska. She also really enjoys football (she’s a huge Iowa Hawkeyes fan!) and tries to go to games when she can.
