Beermittee Keeps Creativity Flowing

To paraphrase Ferris Bueller, agency life moves pretty fast sometimes. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you might miss it. At Trilix, the Beermittee helps us slow down, look around and get to know our coworkers over a frosty cold one.

While beer at work may still seem unorthodox to some, it’s a widely recognized office perk which helps boost morale and keep employees engaged in their work and with each other. Plus, who wants to work from home when you can enjoy the finest lagers, pale ales, stouts, porters, ambers, sours, wheat ales, saisons and lambics at the office? In a Trilix tradition that dates back to the company’s founding, every Friday afternoon, employees are encouraged to take a break from their work and gather in the kitchen for “Beer:30.” It's a time for comradery, relaxation and, naturally, beer.

The Beermittee curates an ever-changing selection of the latest craft brews to feature at each Beer:30. One of the three “-mittees” at Trilix (the others being Fitmittee and Funmittee), Beermittee admittedly has a simple mission: keep the kegs flowing and fill the refrigerator with unique, new brews for everyone to try. Its four members this year are Jason Wells, Travis Ziemke, Michael Lammers and Kramer McLuckie. Each is a true connoisseur, bringing a refined palate and years of ample beer consumption to the table. Since the opening of our office in Birmingham, Alabama, Trilix transplant Austin Narber has been kind enough to send up growlers from the Yellowhammer State for us to sample in Des Moines. The Beermittee helps keep Trilix employees content and thirsty for more.
