Atlantic Bottling Company Expands Territories, Enlists Trilix’s Help

Last month, Atlantic Bottling came to Trilix for social media and media outreach help for their territory expansion across Iowa, happening October 1.

Upon taking over media relations efforts and social media management for Atlantic Bottling, Trilix’s goal was to increase brand awareness and engagement from current and potential consumers. Trilix not only wanted to inform people about the upcoming territory expansion, but also wanted to tell the Atlantic Bottling story and let followers in on the world of Iowa’s Coca-Cola.

To promote the expansion and create awareness in the new territories throughout northern and eastern Iowa, Trilix performed a variety of activities on behalf of the client from pre-announcement planning, launch-day activities and media relations efforts.

Pre-Announcement Planning
A few weeks before keys were handed to the Atlantic Bottling team, Atlantic Bottling recruited Trilix to assist with launch efforts. We were brought on to help create social media content calendars and original content and to connect with media across the state to let them know a press release would be released soon.

Launch Day
October 1 marked expansion day for all locations across the state. Trilix PR team members were in the Quad Cities and Mason City to assist with media and take real-time photos and videos for social media. Trilix PR team members also distributed a press release the morning of the expansion, made calls and scheduled interviews (radio, TV and print) with President Kirk Tyler and other members of the Atlantic Bottling team. Trilix also provided talking points and media prep for the interviews, as needed.

Post-Launch Recap
With only two weeks to prep, results were staggering. Atlantic Bottling Company had over $10,000 in earned media and there were 15 media placements across all nine territories. Additionally, through the use of aesthetically pleasing images, positive brand posts and mixed media content, Trilix was able to exceed expectations for social media. We increased organic Facebook followers by 256, reached more than 135,000 people and had over 22,500 engagement on posts created by our team. On Twitter, our tweets garnered over 15,400 tweet impressions, increased profile visits by 229.9% and received countless mentions, favorites and retweets during launch day and after.

Beginning as an ice cream and ice business in Villisca, Iowa, around 1905, Atlantic Bottling then went on to produce soda named “Tyler’s Flavors” along with ice and ice cream.
