Trilix added designer (and another Iowa State fan) to the team today with Alex Huston. Alex, a central Iowa native, graduated from Iowa State University in 2015 with a BFA in graphic design. While studying in school, Alex interned with a local design firm, and before coming to Trilix, worked in design and social media for a large property management company in Ames.
We sat down with Alex to learn more about him, from his design influences to his favorite band of all time, and everything in between.
What first made you interested in design?
My two main influences were my brother’s artwork and vintage advertising.
If you didn’t work in design, what is the next career path you’d choose?
I would be a voice actor.
Give us a fun or weird fact about you that not many people know.
When I was little, I got my leg stuck in a movie theater chair when The Lost World: Jurassic Park came out. If you were there — sorry I screamed so much!
Name your favorite band of all time.
If you won the lottery, what are the first three things you’d do with your winnings?
Donate in some way, buy a Delorean DMC-12 and hopefully not spend the rest.
Dogs or cats?
Cats. But dogs are okay too.
East coast or West coast?
East coast for the history and the music scene.
What do you like to do in your spare time when you’re not at work?
I play guitar.
We are excited to see all of this Iowa State grad’s creative talents come to life for our clients. Welcome to the team, Alex!
