HR talent & culture manager Shelsie Greenfield understands that enriching employee experiences is the starting point to driving creative work for our clients. As a former business owner and seasoned HR professional, she brings a well-rounded perspective that’s essential in agency culture. Empathetic and business-savvy, Shelsie encourages our team to excel in — and outside — the office.

What is your professional background?

I spent 11 years in the private security industry for a global company in various director-level HR positions. In 2010 I bought and started our own commercial HVAC and plumbing company in Kansas City, where I managed all HR functions and was responsible for all the financials. Upon selling our company in 2022, I was very fortunate to have someone let me know that Trilix was looking for an HR manager. It has been great getting back to my HR roots in a company as special as Trilix.

What do you like about living/working in Iowa?

While I grew up in Iowa, I spent the last 20 years living in Kansas City, so I am adjusting to being back in Iowa. Getting to live close to all of my family again is the best thing for me about being back. I will miss the milder winters that I got accustomed to in Kansas City though, as well as KC Chiefs red Fridays!

What is your life outside work like?

Outside of work, my life is all about my family. I have two kiddos and am very close to my extended family who all live close by. If we are not enjoying family time here in Des Moines, we are most likely down at our home on the Lake of the Ozarks, my absolute favorite place to spend time.
