What is your professional background?
I grew up right here in Iowa on the border of Waukee and West Des Moines. Another addition to the Iowa State/Iowa in-office Trilix rivalry, I graduated from Iowa State University in 2016 where I worked at the student newspaper, the Iowa State Daily. After graduating with a minor in criminal justice, I began my career in journalism as a reporter at The Gazette in Cedar Rapids and, more recently, the Des Moines Register.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I listen to a lot of music and read, but I also garden when Iowa has nice enough weather to go outside. I also love, love, love scary movies.
If you didn’t work in this industry, what career path would you choose?
I would probably love to write a few books or work in the criminal justice industry.
