Senior web developer Derick Hutchins has a passion for programming and penchant for problem-solving with code. Derick works with clients on back-end programming, database creation and management, and server management. In addition, he builds internal web applications for Trilix that organize content to improve workflow.
What is your professional background?
I majored in human computer interaction and psychology at the University of Iowa. During and after college, I worked in IT tech support until pivoting to web development a few years later. After a brief stint of freelancing, I started working at Trilix in early 2015.
What is your favorite kind of work to do?
I would say I enjoy working with new technologies, projects and learning new ways of doing things.
What do you like to do outside work?
Spending time with family and friends and playing video games with what time I have left after my kids are asleep.
