With nearly two decades of experience mixing audio across a variety of channels, Brooke Schaffner is a pro at wielding sound to capture listeners’ attention. Having worked with television networks like HGTV, Brooke is a skilled mixing engineer, creating and enhancing audio to elevate stories.
What is your professional background?
I have been an audio engineer for close to 20 years. Having worked in multiple post-production facilities, I’ve mixed hundreds of hours of television for a variety of networks. Other areas of expertise include post mixing and sound design for film, podcasts and commercial work.
What do you love most about the work you do?
Sound is what brings life to what you see visually. I love creating sonic landscapes that complete what the story is trying to tell and take the viewer to new places.
What is one thing on your bucket list?
Something on my personal bucket list would be to take a midnight tour of Edinburgh Castle in Scotland. Bonus if they would let me bring a field recorder during the tour to catch the sounds of the castle at night.
