Florida Gators Sweep the Trilix Bracket Racket 2006
Russell Petrovsky Single-handedly wins the iPod Nano

URBANDALE, Iowa – April 4, 2006 – It may have proven to be a banner season for the Florida Gators after their 73-57 win over the UCLA Bruins, but it was Russell Petrovsky who’s really having the banner week after winning the iPod Nano in Trilix’s Bracket Racket 2006.

After weeks of surprising wins (George Mason) and losses (Duke) in the Men’s NCAA Basketball Tournament, Monday night finally crowned a clear winner in the third-seeded Gators. Surprisingly, of the 179 participants in the Trilix Bracket Racket, no one correctly picked Florida to win but it was Petrovsky, a Los Angeles resident and employee of GetLower.com, who came the closest in overall points with 96 (he picked UCLA to take the crown.)

“I can’t even begin to tell you how many upsets there were this year in the Bracket Racket,” said Todd Senne, president and co-owner of Trilix Marketing Group. “I don’t think anyone could have predicted the outcome. I certainly didn’t. Even Russell picked UCLA to win. We’ll forgive him for that and give him the iPod anyway.”

This was the first year for the Trilix Bracket Racket, now expected to become an annual tradition for the marketing agency. In addition to the Bracket Racket, Trilix also holds the Super Poll – a poll that chooses fan favorite commercials during the Super Bowl held in February.
